Sri Dalada Maligawa
Kandy's primary tourist attraction and one of the holiest Buddhist shrines in the world, the "Dalada Maligawa" or the Temple of the Tooth Relic, is the heart of Kandy's culture, religious life and age-old traditions. First built in the 15th century, and expanded by successive kings, it is a masterpiece of traditional Kandyan art and architecture. In July/August every year, the tooth relic of the Buddha that is enshrined here is paraded through the city streets in a magnificent procession featuring traditional drummers, dancers and caparisoned elephants.

Sigiriya Rock Fortress
Sigiriya (Lion Rock) is an ancient palace located in the Matale District, Sri Lanka. The name refers to a site of historical and archaeological significance that is dominated by a massive column of rock nearly 660 ft high. According to the ancient Sri Lankan chronicle the Culavamsa, this site was selected by King Kasyapa (477 – 495 CE) for his new capital. Sigiriya today is a UNESCO listed World Heritage Site. Ancient Temples
